When someone thinks of transporting dangerous goods, you normally think of those tankers carrying fuel, gas or dangerous chemicals. However, the list of dangerous goods is much wider and includes alcohol and soft drinks all of which contain sugar, ethanol and natural sweeteners. In the event of a collision, these products can spill onto the road, seep into the soil and possibly into water drains or rivers which in turn can result in an extensive and costly clean-up operation. Any product spilled causing harm to humans or the environment needs to be reported to the relevant authorities.
The impact of an incident is not always determined by the volume of the product spilled, but also by the effect the spill and the packaging materials will have on human health, property and the environment.
Our Pollution Solution can now be written on a standalone basis as well as being added to your Heavy Commercial Vehicle policy.
The ONE Pollution Solution provides cover for the following:
Damages arising from the spillage of the Dangerous Goods and the clean-up costs
Removal or deactivation of the Dangerous Goods and ensuring that the area affected is restored to its former state
Provision of legal representation in the event of the institution of any legal proceedings
Bodily injury or death arising therefrom
Damage to third party assets
